Raveon’s new
RV-M7 StingRay high-speed UHF data radio transceiver increases
data throughput in narrow-band wireless systems. Included in each unit, are
advanced networking, error correction, and diagnostics. It may be ordered
with an IP65 weatherproof enclosure. And because it is the only radio
modem built using rugged “single-board” construction, it is extremely tough
– and cost effective. With
prices starting below $400 the StingRay is the most powerful, most economical data radio
available.
For truly turn-key asset tracking system, the -GX option for the
StingRay radio modem incorporates a built-in Trimble GPS into the radio.
The StingRay model RV-M7-UC-GX is
the easiest-to use UHF GPS tracking radio made. Featuring NMEA output
compatible with most plotters and hand-held GPS units that have serial NMEA
inputs, the unit is able to report its position and status (voltage,
temperature, speed, direction...) in less than 50mS. Using its built-in TDMA
channel access method, a system built with StingRay can track up to
20 units with 1-second updates, 300 units with 15 second updates. or up to
9999 units with updates as fast as every 15 minutes.
For real-time location-based tracking of vehicles, tractors, golf-carts, and the like, the
VHF FireLine, model RV-M5 is the perfect radio solution. With 2 watts and 150dB of link margin, it has a range of over
20 miles line-of-sight. It operates in the unlicensed MURS channels, so deployment is easy yet costs half as much as most UHF licensed radios.

For shorter-range tracking, consider the RV-M3-M MURS band OEM module.
It is the lowest-cost unlicensed solution with the longest communication
range on the market. Using omni-directional antennas, it still
achieves reliable communications over many miles of terrain.

For end-of-day data collection, teenager tracking, RFID, and shorter-range wireless data, where low-cost is of the utmost concern, the RF-M1 is a small 915MHz radio modem, operating in the unlicensed ISM band. Its ultra-low power design enables it to be used in small battery-powered and mobile devices. With an exceptional communication range for its class, it still costs far less than a GPS receiver. The RV-U1 USB interface can be used to poll or download data from the RV-M1.
